GLA Welcomes Pranab Choudhury to our Board of Directors

In our 10th year of operations, Global Land Alliance is excited to announce that Pranab Choudhury has joined the Global Land Alliance board of directors. Pranab has been working on interdisciplinary issues connecting natural resources, climate and local communities for more than three decades, with governments, civil society, academia and the private sector.

Pranab Choudhury co-founded and leads Landstack, a global south think tank, that seeks to enrich and expand the land governance ecosystem with more information, institutions and innovations. He spearheads India Land and Development Conference (ILDC), an annual convening of intense and diverse land conversations. As a scientist with the National Agricultural Research System, and later as a development expert, he works to connect interdisciplinary issues of natural resources, climate and local communities.

He has led and guided large scale projects, set up start-ups and has co-founded collaborative platforms. Apart from engaging with teaching and training initiatives, he also publishes regularly to enhance outreach and impact of his works. As an advisor, he assists several Indian and global institutions working at the interface of land, development, and climate.

Pranab Choudhury shares GLA’s vision for world where local people and communities have control-of and access-to their land, property and housing: which in turn creates a more socially just, economically prosperous, and environmentally sustainable world. We are thrilled to have him guide us as a board member!
